Boston BoldSprints, Round 2

Round 2 of Boston BoldSprints once again packed the house at All Asia Bar, as city riders, bike messengers, and road racers went head-to-head in a world of pain and beer. DJ Mayhem was pumping up the jams, and AWhitmore of Taza Chocolate was there passing out some goodies. It was great to see Mully and Amy of Rushin' Revolution handing out some new stickers. As always, the event was presented by BostonBiker.org.

BoldSprints co-founder Nick Mashburn (Cambridge Bicycle/Igleheart Frames) posted a fast qualifying time that stood most of the night. Perhaps having the equipment at your house helps to figure out that perfect gear ratio!

We all know how important it is to stay hydrated. This lady came with 2 cans and a plan! Speaking of ladies, we only had 4 women in qualifying this round. It would be nice to see enough women to fill out a complete finals bracket. Come on, I know there are some fast women out there. Bring all your friends and all your lovers...

JDunn waltzed in, ready to tear things up, and proceeded to tear himself right out of the fork mounts with his awesome power!

This video is the final round, McKittrick vs. Bradshaw. Both men are pushing over 100 gear inches, and after 3 previous runs each it came down to only .16 seconds! In the end, the WC got his revenge for getting knocked out of the semi-finals two weeks ago.

For more photos of the pain, look here and here. Make sure to come out to All Asia in two weeks for another chance to get sweaty and maybe win a copy of Embrocation Magazine and other prizes from Cambridge Bicycle.
